Abstract photography has the power of developing seeing skills. What I mean is, this unique form of photographic expression challenges our perception, encouraging us to look beyond the obvious and discover beauty in unconventional ways.

It is extremely difficult to define what abstract photography is. You might say I am bias but abstract photography is one of the most distinctive and thought-provoking genres in visual arts. Abstract photography involves capturing images that deviate from conventional representations of reality. Instead, it explores shapes, colours, and patterns to evoke emotions and instigate the viewer’s imagination.
Breaking Down the Elements
Abstract images are similar to abstract art in a way. When delving into the world of abstract photography, one encounters a diverse array of elements that contribute to its richness. Shapes, for instance, take on a central role. The photographer skilfully utilizes geometry to create compositions that challenge preconceived notions and ignite a sense of curiosity. There is a mystery around the subject, no literal subject, just a playful harmony between shapes, forms, light and texture.
